Keynote Speech at the CAS (Center for Advanced Studies, Munich) Workshop “Applications of Synthetic Biology in Medicine”

Regensburg, 14.11.2014 - This workshop focuses on the potential of Synthetic Biology to drive significant advances in biomedicine and will address topics such as artificial genetic systems and the synthesis and evolution of novel, DNA like polymers for applications in nanotechnology, material science and clinical settings, the production of artemisinin-based drugs used for the treatment of malaria; achievements in the development of HIV candidate vaccines by using synthetic biology tools. Invited speakers are Kirsten Benjamin (Amyris Inc., San Francisco), Ruth Brack-Werner (Helmholtz-Zentrum München), Philipp Holliger (MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge) and Ralf Wagner (University of Regensburg).
